Alvarez vs Cintron Result, Bad Stoppage?

Saul Alvarez remained undefeated after dominating and stopping Kermit Cintron by 5th round tko decision in their fight at the Plaza Mexico in Mexico City. Alvarez successfully defended for the 3rd time his World Boxing Council (WBC) Light Middleweight title.

Alvarez, 21, too powerful in the fight by connecting big right hooks and body punches. In the 4th round, Cintron's defense was open and Canelo Alvarez took the chance by throwing three consecutive power right hooks to Cintron. Cintron was down and took longer time to stood up, but he have done it as Referee Afu counted to 9. Cintron was badly hurt in that knock down and Alvarez took the advantage to knock the guy out, Alvarez continued pressuring where Cintron almost went down at the end of the round and saved by the bell although he still able to fire back those punches in a wobble legs.

Kermit Cintron was badly hurt in round 4 and obviously the fight will not to last long next. At the 2:53 of round 5, Alvarez strongly connected a left hook and followed by a big right to Cintron's head where Referee Hector Afu decided to end the fight. It was a great tko victory for Saul "Canelo" Alvarez but some boxing fans dismayed due to a bad stoppage loss for Cintron. As you watch it in replay, Cintron can still go on the fight but it was a good decision by Referre Afu to protect the fighter.
