Jessie Vargas remains undefeated after a 10-round split decision victory over Josesito Lopez in the undercard fight of Mayweather Jr vs Ortiz at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America.
Jessie Vargas was very handful in the fight. He aggressively started the round and throws a lot of hard combinations. Josesito Lopez came back at the last minute of 3rd round hitting Vargas with hard punches and uppercuts. At 2:23 time remaining in round 8, Vargas hit Lopez a low blow shot and referee Tony Weeks declared a 1 point deduction. And in later that round, Jessie Lopez hurt Vargas by a continuous hard combinations both in the head and body. In the 10th round, the pressure of Lopez given was not enough to hurt more Vargas and the bout goes to decision. Three Judges: Duane Ford 95-94 Vargas, Richard Houck 95-94 Lopez and Patricia Morse Jarman 96-93 Vargas.
