Hernan Marquez of Mexico, the current World Boxing Association Flyweight Champion of the World will be fighting against the former World Boxing Council Silver Flyweight Edrin Dapudong of the Philippines on July 2, 2011 Saturday night live at Sonora, Mexico.
Hernan Marquez, a 22 year old southpaw fighter from Sonora, Mexico will put to a challenge again against a fighter from Philippines, Dapudong. When it comes to the word "Philippines", Marquez can't forget his loss against Nonito Donaire on last July, 2010. It was an eight-round tko victory for Donaire. Marquez performed well in that fight but the counter-punching of Donaire leads to win the fight. Marquez came back after that loss by beating three guys Leon, Martinez and Concepcion via impressive tko/ko victory. Marquez won the WBA World Flyweight Title over Luis Concepcion on last April and now, he will be defending his title for the first time. It will be a hard 12 rounds bout in the flyweight division.
Edrin Dapudong will be fighting again outside in his country, the Phillipines, after the loss he earned from Wilbert Uicab in Cancun, Mexico on last September 2010 via a 12-round unanimous decision victory. Dapudong came back almost 5 months after, he fought Sofyan Effendi of Indonesia and won a tko victory. And his last fight against Benja Loemoli of Indonesia, he won an impressive 4th round tko victory.
